From open signal
to verified fact.
One engine collects open-source signals, sends what matters to people on the ground, checks every image and document for tampering, and hands analysts a graded, sourced picture. Three products run on it.
Eight layers of open data, read continuously.
The HELIOS engine combines what the world reports with what instruments record — ships, aircraft, heat from orbit, prices — so a story can be tested against physical signals before anyone acts on it.
| Layer | What we read | How it is used |
|---|---|---|
| News & wire services | Global, regional and Korean outlets; topical news feeds screened every edition | Leads only — every story is opened and graded before use |
| Conflict & security events | GDELT and other open event data | Event data cross-checked against reporting |
| Maritime | AIS vessel positions | Chokepoints, waiting vessels, naval movements |
| Aviation | Public ADS-B flight tracking | Unusual military or cargo patterns |
| Satellite thermal anomalies | NASA FIRMS | Fires and heat signatures near industrial and energy sites |
| Markets & commodities | Energy, metals, indices, FX | Every quote carries its own timestamp |
| Logistics & trade | Port and shipping signals, trade records | Supplier and route exposure |
| Side indicator (Global Watch only) | Pentagon Pizza Index — two trackers | For interest only; never used in a judgment |
When a decision depends on it, someone goes and looks.
Screenshots, listings and press releases can be staged. For supplier sites, facilities and events across Korea and Southeast Asia, HELIOS tasks vetted local partners to confirm the facts in person — lawfully, and with evidence that can itself be checked.
- 01TASKdefine the question
What exactly must be true — a site exists, a line is running, a shipment left?
- 02ASSIGNvetted local partner
Matched by location and skill; works within local law and the client's mandate.
- 03CAPTUREevidence with provenance
Photos and records carry time, location and device signatures from the moment of capture.
- 04CHECKvision ai
Every file is screened for tampering before it is accepted as evidence.
- 05REPORTgraded and sourced
Findings are graded on the Admiralty scale and written in ICD 203 language.
Trust nothing that hasn't been checked.
Images and documents are screened with complementary forensic tests before they are used as evidence. Each test catches a different kind of manipulation.
ELA
Re-compresses a JPEG and maps where error levels differ. Pasted or edited regions often compress differently from the rest of the picture.
PRNU
Every camera sensor leaves a faint noise fingerprint. Matching it shows whether a photo came from the device that claims to have taken it.
Generative artefacts
Synthetic images and deepfakes leave statistical traces in texture and frequency that natural photos do not.
Every line carries a grade, a source and a likelihood.
HELIOS writes to published analytic standards — ICD 203 and the Admiralty grading system — and shows exactly how it applies them.
Admiralty grading
Source reliability (A–F) and information credibility (1–6) on every item.
ICD 203 likelihood
Judgments use the seven calibrated likelihood terms, with stated confidence.
Two-source rule
A top story needs two independent sources; single-source items are labelled as gaps.
Independent fact-check
A separate reviewer re-opens the sources; anything unsupported is removed before publication.

Don't take our word for it. Here is the last run.
These numbers are written by the Global Watch run itself — not a marketing claim. They update every time a new edition is published.
